Nicole is a lifelong Episcopalian from Jackson, Mississippi, where she was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrews Cathedral. She attended The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and moved to Washington, DC in 1998. Nicole worked at museums and in various accounting roles until she had her first son, Reese. She enjoyed the role of a stay-at-home mom for Reese and her second son, Walker, until they were both in elementary school. Nicole found her calling, working with little ones and their families, teaching preschool. She taught for four years, then served as Director at Emmanuel Preschool in Alexandria from July 2018 until July 2026.
Nicole is married to Stephen Crochet, the Chief Development Officer at Bishop Walker School for Boys, a tuition-free Episcopal School in Southeast DC. Her son Reese recently graduated from George Washington University, where he played on their baseball team and earned a finance and political science degree. Her younger son, Walker, is a sophomore at Dickinson College and is on the cross-country and track teams.
Nicole has been a member of St. John’s Church Lafayette Square since moving to the DC area. The Crochet Family are devoted members of St. John’s, serving in various volunteer roles at the church.
Nicole was drawn to Pohick Church after learning about the tight-knit and devoted parishioners and staff. She is looking forward to bringing her skills to the role of Director of Youth and Family Ministries and getting to know and support this wonderful community.
