Class One: Reflection Questions

1. What was the nature of Steve and Bill’s initial conflict, the attitudes that led to its expansion, and the elements behind its ultimate resolution (See Ken Sande, The Peacemaker, pp. 14-15)?

 2. In what ways have I encountered (especially in myself) one of the listed responses to conflict, whether they involve Escape, Attack or Conciliation (see chart of responses)?

 3. “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, so that they may be saved. Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10:31-11:1)

Reflecting upon this passage, how might I envision conflict as a way to glorify God? How, in the midst of it, might I be a servant of others? Finally, how might my imitation of Christ inform my response?
