The 2008 Stewardship Campaign is off to a slow start. As of the third week of the campaign, 101 parishioners have pledged $321,591 compared with last year’s numbers of 144 pledges for a total of $358,701. This is cause for concern as Pohick’s 2007 budget is currently showing a deficit and with the 2008 Stewardship Campaign running behind last year’s numbers, the Church could be facing an even larger deficit for next year.

As in previous years, individuals have the option of deciding where the stewardship pledge will be used. Choices are as follows:

Unrestricted: pledge is given to Pohick with no restrictions and a set percentage of it will be forwarded to the Diocese of Virginia, which in turn sends a percentage to the National Church.

Restricted to Parish and Diocese: funds are not forwarded through the Diocese of Virginia to the National Church.

Restricted to Parish: all of the pledge will be used by Pohick and its outreach programs.

For those that have not yet submitted a 2008 pledge card, prayerfully make a commitment to Pohick for the coming year.
