I think we must maintain our full engagement with the Diocese of Virginia and also establish/sustain a dialogue with other parishes in northern Virginia. Any actions we take should not put at risk our church property or the future role of our rector and staff at Pohick. As a member of the vestry, I would also like to focus my energy on bringing in new members and more importantly, keeping existing members so that all can share in our vibrant, rich, spiritual life at Pohick Church.

I see my role as working to foster this feeling of family within the parish, helping us to focus on positive goals and accomplishments that can make a lasting impact on the rich history of this church and on the community around us. Personal Ministry: I feel that my personal ministry would be to make sure that the children’s programs that first drew us here continue to serve our youth. I’d also like to help other families searching for a church home feel as welcomed as we did ten years ago when we came to Pohick. When we were searching for a church, we were impressed by all the programs Pohick had to offer. As a family with young children, a strong children’s program was our first concern. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Pohick had programs for the whole family and we were able to easily become involved in the life of the church. This was not the case at some of the other churches we visited. I want to make sure that Pohick continues to be a welcoming church and that others have the opportunity to grow here as we have.
