SENIOR WARDEN'S REPORT Peter Kind, Senior Warden The Vestry meeting was held on November 8 and began with the spiritual welfare of the cure led by Father Binder, and Compline led by Jim Hayes. The minutes were approved as amended. The Rector reported on the search for a new Minister of Music, and the completion of the entrance from Pohick Road with the exception of grass seeding and final inspection. He also announced that Bishop Theodore Eastman will join the Pohick Congregation on June 11, 2006 for the annual visitation. The Assistant Rector noted the Advent quiet morning on December 3. The Senior Warden asked Vestry members to get to know the new Vestry candidates and assist with any questions they may have. He also noted the upcoming budget discussions and asked for preparation to discuss their areas. The Treasurer’s report was approved. There was also discussion of the new draft Personnel Policy presented by Greg Wise. In view of the considerable detail, upcoming budget, elections and new Vestry orientation, action was deferred until 2006 with a Spring finalization target. Discussion of the Planned Giving Policy was deferred until all committees have completed their action. Chairman Dave Lehner and Jim Hayes presented the slate for new Vestry members and status of two additional individuals being considered. Jane Thurston reported on initial pledging results – behind last year’s results, but comparable to two years ago. As of November 6, there were 124 pledges totaling $320,842. Pete Kind reported that the new pictorial directory will be available in January.
