H ISTORIC P OHICK C HURCH F OUNDATION P OSITION D ESCRIPTION F OR D EVELOPMENT O FFICER General description: Administrative position to assist with correspondence, record keeping, data base management, and grant writing for the Historic Foundation. Desk space will be available in the church office and a lap top computer will be provided. This is a part time position for a quarter of a work year (average 10 hours per week). Specific tasks: 1. Receive, generate and maintain correspondence. 2. Maintain and update brochures and historical literature. 3. Record donations and write thank you letters to the donors. 4. Maintain a data base of donors, both actual and potential. 5. Search for potential individual donors and sources for grants.
6. Write requests for donation letters. 7. Coordinate writing requests for grants. 8. Coordinate the organization of special events. Experience required: 1. Minimum two years experience in the nonprofit sector, including some grant writing experience. 2. Excellent writing skills. 3. Proficiency with nonprofit budgeting. 4. Proficiency in using PC computers and software, including Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and data base software. Email resume to foundation@pohick.org or contact Don O'Connell.
