Stewardship Campaign
Thanks for “Giving Until it Feels Good”!
“Each of you must give as you have made up
your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor 9:7
The months of September and October have been extremely busy for this wonderful parish and everyone gave of talent and time in support of the many parish outreach events until it felt good. Now the Stewardship mailings have been mailed with the new brochure and the most important stewardship pledge card.
This year’s Stewardship theme is Giving until it Feels Good. As the year progresses and economic and political events outside the realm of Pohick Church make “feeling good” in a secular sense a challenge, “feeling good” in a spiritual sense is becoming more relevant. In times of stress, people frequently turn to the Church seeking solace and comfort to regenerate and calm the tumult of everyday life. Looking to God, His scriptures, and the fellowship of other parishioners is a desire to seek the goodness, the mercy and, yes, the joy that abounds in God’s love.
Contributions to the continuing ministry of Pohick Church are received with the thanks and gratitude of Pohick’s Clergy, Vestry, and fellow parishioners. It will enable this parish to continue providing for the spiritual well being of everyone who walks through the doors or is touched by the many outreach programs in this community and elsewhere. Hopefully, giving cheerfully to Pohick will enhance and enrich the lives of individuals, and individuals will experience the joy of God’s love.
Thanks go to the congregation for the continued support. Special thanks are extended to the Stewardship Committee, who spent many extra hours ensuring that the Activities Fair, Wishing Well, Stewardship mailings, monthly Stewardship articles, and over all Stewardship Campaign were a success. Thanks to Fuzzy and Jane Thurston, Edwardene Pitcock, John Pasour, Diana Bland, Matt Gurrola, Pat Osisek, Tom Mayberry, Senior Warden and Stewardship Co-Chair, and a special thanks to Carmel Hodge who designed the brochure and new letterhead.
For those who have sent in pledges, thanks. If the pledge card has been misplaced or not received, please contact the Church Office and one will be sent right away.
