A HODGE PODGE RETROSPECTIVE It was a pretty good year for Hodge Podge. A new revenue record was set by making over $1800. Some super workers helped set up on Friday, sell, and then take down on Saturday. Thanks to the parishioners who heeded earlier Post articles about what does and does not sell. Although there was less “stuff” this year, it was of far better quality. Nearly all items were able to be displayed by the time the door opened at 6:45 am, and a greater percentage of items were sold than in previous years. Now a bit more news. There is going to be a chance to excel – a calling to fill – an opportunity to operationalize stewardship! After 10 years with Hodge Podge, Jane and Fuzzy Thurston are stepping down as Hodge Podge chaircouple, and the Fair Committee needs someone looking for a challenge to step in and take Hodge Podge to the next level. Jane and Fuzzy are willing to play an advisory role next year to help with set-up and selling, and to donate all signage and equipment. Please give this some careful consideration. Hodge Podge is not necessarily something that can be done in a weekend. It takes planning and consumes some hours before and after Fair Saturday, but it is rewarding and has become an important part of the Fair. Please contact the Thurstons or Mike Zane, 2006 Fair Chairman, if interested in taking on this task.
