The EYC kick off picnic was greatly enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone who brought food, drinks and desserts. No one went away hungry. While parents were meeting, the youth participated in lively games and a spirited game of tag. The evening wrapped up with a rock, paper, scissors tournament.

An exciting year is planned with wonderful events for upcoming events in October and November. On October 30th, the EYC will be getting lost in the corn - that is right, as there will be a trip to a maize maze. It promises to be an exciting evening, so make plans to attend the fun. Look for more details in the mail.

Plans are currently being finalized for the 2006 mission trip, and will be revealed next month. In the meantime, Safeway shoppers within the congregation can jumpstart the fundraising efforts by registering their Safeway charitable contribution to Pohick Church EYC. Register online at www.escrip.com and click on the “Sign Up” link. Enter Pohick Episcopal Church as the group name, or 1045760 as the group ID number, to complete the registration. During the registration, it is not necessary to register a credit card. Depending on the amount of groceries bought each month, the EYC mission trip account will receive up to 3% of purchases. Doesn’t everyone need 300 rolls of toilet paper?
