ORGAN RESTORATION

The choir year has had a great start! Registration on September 7th was a great success. The Choir of Pohick now has 8 new members bringing us to a total of 27 members in the choir. I never dreamed of the day we would have so many! We do still need men, especially tenors! The St. Cecilia and St. Alban's Choirs have 17 enrolled, with 6 new members! St. Francis now has 18, the Pickers and the Bell Choir now has 1 new member each. We welcome to our choirs:

Choir of Pohick
Bill Bland, Julie Elston
Rebecca From, Carrie Hanna
Kevin Hanna, Mary Merriam
Hap Peterson, Christina Raia

St. Cecilia and St. Alban's Choir
Nicole Abba, Sarah Gray
David Gray, Kelsey Hodge
Lebby Moran, Sarah Stephens

Pohick Bell Choir
Carol Baker

Pohick Pickers
Joe Moran

This year we combined our St. Cecilia and St. Alban's Choirs because there is a gap in our congregation in the 4th grade range and an overwhelming number of 7th graders, which left St. Cecilia very small! Because we combined, we now have 17 choristers. We will be able to sing in parts this year and this will give the choristers a great choir experience. New initiatives have been taken because of all of our boys! All of our boys are either going through the voice change or are about to have this experience. To assist our boys, they will be having "guy time" on Saturday mornings once a month where they will be rehearsing together to help sort through this uncertain period for them. It will also be a time where they will be able to feel comfortable singing only in front of the other guys and ask questions about what they're experiencing. I can't wait to hear them all sing!

Please be sure to welcome all of our new members and extend your appreciation to those who continually give of their time to this ministry from year to year. It's going to be a great year!
