Outreach
The congregation of Pohick Church continues to respond to needs of the local community and beyond. During July, the youth group made their annual Mission Trip. This time the destination was Savannah, Georgia. During August, a group from Pohick went to Iowa to help with cleanup following the devastation of the Midwest flooding. Be sure to thank this group for their great efforts!
Additionally, Pohick parishioners contributed to the annual Back to School Collection of school supplies to assist LCAC in meeting the needs of young people in the community. The Vacation Bible School added to this collection from its participants, and this made a huge difference in the ability to respond. Also, the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew made a significant monetary contribution to help LCAC fill the holes! Thanks to all who supported this effort.
From October 12 to 18, a group from Pohick will be making a return visit - number five - to continue the rebuilding effort in New Orleans. Space has been reserved for 15 participants, and there are still a few spots available. For those interested in this mission, please contact Susan Homar at susan.homar@nciainsurance.com.
