Junior Warden's Report
Thanks to Austin Gastrell’s successful Eagle Scout project, there is now permanent lighting on the Old Colchester Road steps, in the parking area, and along the pathway in front of the Vestry House. Funding came from Church organizations and individual donations. Great job!
The mission of the Renovations Committee is to provide a welcoming and attractive Parish Hall that is safe, clean, functional, and accessible for all parishioners to enjoy Christian fellowship. Committee goals are to:
- Create a more welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.
- Improve the Common Hall acoustics.
- Accommodate the wide variety of Pohick activities that occur in the Parish Hall throughout the year.
- Improve the functionality and appearance of the special purpose rooms in the Parish Hall.
- Improve the functionality of storage space throughout the Parish Hall, increasing it where possible.
- Improve building access for special needs parishioners.
- Incorporate energy efficiency measures when feasible.
The Vestry approved major repairs to the Parish House roof. The flat section of the roof leaks, which will cause major interior damage over time. The estimated cost is $8000, which will come from the Capital Improvements budget.
Other news:
