Well, summer is over and the new school year is ready to start. That means another great year of EYC, full of fun and excitement! I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Rusty Booth and I am the new Youth Minister. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and helping you develop your relationship with Christ.

            Pohick has three EYC groups which meet at  Church. The 5/6 grade group meets two Sunday evenings a month. The Junior High (7/8 grade) and Senior High (9-12 grade) meet every Sunday evening. On the first Sunday of the month, there will be a dinner night at 6:00 pm followed by the EYC program. The remainder of the month’s Sunday programs begin at 6:00 pm. Mark the calendars!

            The annual EYC Kick-off will be held on Sunday, September 7 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Each family is asked to bring a food item to the picnic.  For the youth, the evening will be a chance to have fun, catch up with old friends after the long summer, and to meet new friends. For the parents, it will be a chance to learn about the program, meet the Youth Minister, the advisors, and the other parents. There will be information about the upcoming mission trip, medical forms to complete, as well as ways to volunteer in the program. Since this meeting will be the only parent meeting for the combined groups, parents are encouraged to attend and not miss any of the fun. More information about the Kick-off picnic has been mailed to the families and information is available on the EYC bulletin board in the Common Room.
