It’s Not Grandmother’s Farm… ...but it will bring back memories of a place long ago. Apple Butter time has arrived. Now is the opportunity to recapture the nostalgia of visiting Grandmother’s farm in the fall. The smell of smoke wafting up from cooking fires; the pleasant aroma of spices tickling the nose; and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves can be relived at Pohick Church on the weekend of September 30 through October 1 as apple butter is made for the Country Fair. It’s Apple Butter Time, and it will be made the old fashioned way. Over the weekend, volunteers will be hard at work processing 80 bushels of apples into Pohick’s famous Apple Butter - a best seller every year. Bring a paring knife and cutting board on Saturday, and plan to stay. Or, come by for only an hour or two! Any and all help is welcome! Work starts at 7:00 am on Saturday and earlier on Sunday. Look for a complete schedule in the Church Bulletin as the big weekend gets closer. There will be plenty of work to keep everyone gainfully employed both days. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other parishioners of this great congregation, and a very good chance to just have plain old fun. Every volunteer is indispensable! Without volunteers, this event cannot take place. Please arrange some time to relive a part of life that may have been forgotten. Schedule:
