JUNIOR WARDEN'S REPORT
Ken Wrona, Junior Warden

Recently the Kerns Group Architects of Arlington was engaged to develop options for the building program. Mr. Andrew Cheng presented a very systematic approach for this project, which will culminate in a presentation to the Vestry in October. It is anticipated that the options will feature an approach that will allow building in discrete phases.

Work is progressing on hooking up access to the property and the traffic light at Route 1 and Pohick Road. Initially, this will provide access to the Rector’s driveway and the fair grounds, which will eventually be a primary entrance to the Church property.

The Church has benefited greatly from members of the Boy Scouts of America. The highest attainable rank is Eagle Scout, which can only be attained by conducting a major service project. Scouts take part in service projects throughout their “careers,” however, the Eagle project is different. Instead of merely taking part in a project, the Eagle candidate must plan the entire project, recruit help, assign work, and supervise the conduct of that work. All together the Scout and his crew should put in roughly 100 hours of effort. Pohick has been the site of many Eagle projects, and there is currently a list of Scouts wanting to do more of this good work at Pohick.

The Church is also grateful for the many services received from various youth groups church and community-based. Some examples include the EYC mission and Vacation Bible School.
