Junior Warden's Report

After much research, visits to other churches, and many discussions, parishioners of Pohick Church will enjoy a new sound this summer. Quality speakers and wireless microphones will enable better listening for all. Contributions from Church members and The Pohick Church Historic Foundation will allow many to hear like never before.
Thanks to the initiative of Eagle Scout candidate Austin Gastrell, the Old Colchester Road parking area will become much safer. The Vestry approved a proposal from Austin to install lights on the steps leading to the parking lot, on the walkway from the Vestry House, and against the wall in the parking area.  Lights within the courtyard area will reflect the historical nature of the grounds.
It has been many decades since there has been a wetter May. The rain and wind caused the loss of a couple of large trees on the property.  Fortunately, the trees did not damage buildings.  Luckily, the Church enjoys the presence of several talented lumberjacks who will make sure apple butter weekend will enjoy many years of firewood.
