Like everyone else, the program year is winding down and there are only two more events before summer break. Youth Sunday is June 1. The youth will be leading the congregation in worship and praise. This is also the day to recognize the hard work of the Sunday School teachers, and EYC advisors.
            As the last official event for EYC this year, there will be a Road Rally on June 8 from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm that will end with a picnic of hot dogs, hamburgers, and salad. The Road Rally will begin at the Church with a mystery destination that teams will find by solving clues. Teams will depart from the Church with clues to the correct route and instructions to pick up things along the way. The mission is to follow the correct route, get all of the items along the way, and safely arrive at the picnic site. Prizes will be awarded and help will be provided for those that get “lost.” We encourage each family to participate as a group, but if the whole family (even the youngsters) is not able to attend, feel free to join an adopted family. Each team must have at least two people, a driver and a navigator with one of them being an adult. Sign up for this fun event by June 1 by contacting Rev. MISSION TRIP NEWS

            While the regular EYC takes a hiatus, the Mission Trip youth continue to prepare for this very important ministry. Finances are looking good, but more funds are needed for transportation and other expenses.  Travel to Savannah will be by train.
           To help acquire the additional funds, some fundraisers are planned. From May 25 through June 15, there will be a ‘silent auction’ for a full size ping pong table, which provides family fun and exercise. What a great Father’s Day gift! There will also be a bake sale on Sunday, June 1. Add a baked good to a Sunday picnic without heating up the kitchen! A car wash will be held on Saturday, June 14 in the Old Colchester parking lot from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
