It has been an outstanding Church school year. A huge THANK YOU to all of the teachers, storytellers, door persons, substitutes, snack coordinators, super-intendent, assistant superintendent, and everyone else who worked so hard to make this year such a success. These volunteers have been so generous with their time and talents. Working with the great children and youth of Pohick has been wonderful.

During the summer months, there will be a Children’s Bible Storytelling held during the 10:00 am service for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners through grade 2. Preschoolers will meet in classroom F, and the Kindergarteners through grade 2 will meet in classrooms C and D. A sign up for helpers in these classes is located at the bottom of the stairs. Parents should drop off their children between 9:50 am and 10:00 am. Bible Storytelling is in lieu of Children’s Chapel and Children’s Church. The children will join their parents in the church after the Peace. For more information, call Frances Sessums.

Vacation Bible School

Pohick’s annual Vacation Bible School will be held July 10 through 14 from 9:00 am until 12 noon . The theme is Son Treasure Island. There is a treasure on the island that is more precious than gold, more lasting than diamonds. It is the greatest treasure of all – God’s love! Each day the children will learn how Jesus’ life illustrates God’s love as described in 1 Corinthians 13. This promises to be a week filled with fun, learning, growth and fellowship for everyone involved!

Registration forms can be found in this month’s Pohick Post. Please register students as soon as possible as it makes planning easier! Feel free to invite friends and neighbors to join the fun. Additional forms are available in the main office or outside of the Education office. All students from three years old through those just completing grade 5 are welcome. There is also a class for two and a half and three year olds if the parents are staying to help during the week.

Students going into grade 6 or higher are welcome to help as assistant teachers! Volunteers are still needed! Call Frances Sessums to volunteer in any way!
