The fourteenth year of sponsoring the Gunston Partners Tutoring Program will soon be completed. This program benefits the students of Gunston Elementary School by providing one-on-one tutoring for the students throughout the school year. During the 2007-2008 school year, there have been over 30 students enrolled in the program. After 14 years, the original coordinators of the Gunston Partners Program, Diana Rock and Susan Homar, are looking for two new volunteers to take over the coordination of the program. One of the positions is the primary contact with Gunston Elementary School; the other is the liaison with Pohick Church. The format for the program is established and the current coordinators will be happy to help new volunteers transition into the leadership roles for the program. Please contact Susan Homar to learn more about this very worthwhile outreach volunteer activity.
