I was glad when they said unto me,
The Sounds of Pohick annual free concert is Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 4:00 pm. Be sure to come, and invite friends.
“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
Among the performers at the concert, attendees will hear the Choir of Pohick, the Pohick Bell Choir, the St. Francis Choir, the St. Cecelia St. Alban Choir, and the Pohick Pickers in the Church.
Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.
There will be music by composers who wrote during the whole history of the Church, right up to the present. They include Attwood, Bedford, Belfield, Britten, Geschke, Hodges, Moklebust, Powell, Scott, Stainer, Strommen, and Waldrop.
Jerusalem is built as a city enclosed together.
Attendees will hear the voices of children, teenagers and adults, and many instruments: handbells, guitars, organ, piano and percussion. Close to 100 people make music here at Pohick!
After all that good music, come to the Common Room to celebrate with the music makers at a reception. It’s a great way to spend the end of a May afternoon. Don’t miss it!
