April was a busy time for the EYC. In addition to Easter, the EYC sponsored the annual Coffee House and Spring Retreat. Thanks to everyone who participated in these events! The performers, the sound people, the advisors, and youth who planned and worked on the Coffee House made it a BIG success in the effort to raise money for the Mission Trip to Savannah. The retreat was held at Camp Pinnacle in West Virginia, and a beautiful Saturday allowed for lots of outdoor activities between the sessions on Christian Love. There was a great deal of fun, food, and fellowship.  A very big thanks to the advisors and chaperones that made this such a great event.
            The EYC will only have one official meeting in May due to the Yard Sale, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day. On May 18, there will be a dinner night rather than on the first Sunday of the month. After dinner, there will be a planning session/rehearsal for the annual Youth Sunday Service, which is on June 1.
            On the second Sunday in June, a closing party is scheduled that will once again feature the road rally.  More details on this event will be forth coming.
            Mission Trip Participants: One hundred percent attendance is needed at the next couple of meetings. The next Mission Trip meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at 9:00 am. Donuts, coffee, and juice will be provided. Parents do not need to attend this meeting.  Basic information forms must be submitted immediately.
            ‘Statements’ will be distributed to each participant showing amounts paid and amounts due for the Mission Trip. Discuss any possible corrections with Mother Donna as soon as possible.
            Confirmation: Although not a specific EYC activity, youth confirmation classes are still going strong. Meetings are held every Sunday evening at 5:00 pm from now until Father’s Day when the Bishop visits. Confirmation classes will NOT meet on Mother’s Day or Memorial Day weekend. Any students that have been absent, should contact Rev. Donna to arrange makeup sessions. If sessions are not made up, individuals may not be able to be confirmed this year.
