Junior Warden's Report
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the Church doors were refurbished and hung in time for Holy Week. A productive Spring Cleanup Day was planned. A major task was the reorganization of authorized storage areas. To improve access, the Fairfax County Fire Department has encouraged the removal of all stored items from the mechanical closet and below stairwells in the Parish House. Also, temporary or permanent doorstops must be removed from fire doors, which are most of the doors. Thanks to all who made this year’s cleanup day a success. Research continues on other preservation initiatives. The Historic Pohick Church Foundation and the Property Committee continue work on a Church needs assessment. The list is complete and prioritized, and needs analysis based on logistics and finances. Church parishioners as well as professionals have conducted studies in many of the areas. More advice is being sought, so notify Wayne Biggs or John Sessums if interested or knowledgeable in historic preservation.
