  • Wayne Biggs, Junior Warden, reported that David Smither had provided the Property Committee with a proposal for an Eagle Scout project which is under review. Wayne also discussed a number of repairs that included fixing the roof over Frances Sessums’ office, some fixes to the recent carpet installation, and a leak in the steam pipe that goes from the Parish hall boiler room to the Church. He is considering installation of additional lighting under the balcony in the Church.

  • Jeff Parker, Renovations Committee Chair, indicated the he had receive an estimate for the patching and painting of the Common Room.

  • Dana Hutson, Christian Education, passed on that Pohick students would be delivering palm fronds to the Fairfax on Palm Sunday. She is also working with the Junior Warden on decorating the trailers.

  • Stew Remaly, Stewardship, briefed that there would be another stewardship meeting on March 24, and that Debbie Halla would be writing an article for the Pohick Post on the upcoming Activities Fair. He indicated that a number of other stewardship-focused articles were in process, plus there are plans for a new stewardship brochure.

  • Don Brownlee, Planning and Policy, indicated that his group had met again to work on a presentation to the Vestry on future options for the Church.

  • Robin Teale, Pastoral Care, briefed that the Community of Hope meetings would start again in April.

  • Susanne Leon, Service and Fellowship, passed on her thanks to the Vestry for helping with the Lenten suppers. Many of the other organizations provided much needed help with setup and cleanup for the dinners.

  • Steve Harding, 2008 Fair Chair, will have his first meeting on a Saturday morning in mid to late April.

  • John Pasour, Treasurer, provided the treasurer’s report. February plate and pledge was slightly below average as a percentage of budget. Pohick is now 2.2% of total budget or $12,900 below the historic average to date.
