Martha Guild News

The Martha Guild is sponsoring another “Glories’ Happy Hats Workshop” on Saturday, March 8, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon in the Common Room Annex. During the workshop, “Happy Hats” will be made that will be delivered to hospitals and hospices for children facing hair loss from chemotherapy or other life threatening illnesses, and for those children in pediatric intensive care units or burn centers.
What are Happy Hats? Happy Hats are soft, adaptable, wonderfully silly hats made from colorful material. “When you wear a Happy Hat you think happy thoughts.” Glories’ believes that the happiness created by a Happy Hat can help stimulate favorable psychological motivation for sick children to feel better.
The Director, Susan Khorsand, will join participants to guide the workshop and share experiences from the program. There is a display in the Common Room describing the Happy Hats project. All materials will be supplied. Helping hands are needed to assist in assembling as many Happy Hats as possible.
Everyone in the congregation as well as friends is cordially invited to participate in this worthy endeavor. There will be a signup sheet with the display in the Common Room, but, PLEASE feel free to come even without signing up. If there are any questions, please contact Connie Myers at jetskiing@hotmail.com.
