CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The Valentine Bud Vase visit to the Fairfax and the Westminster retirement homes was very successful. Thanks to Kelley Perconti for making the beautiful flower arrangements again this year. Thanks also to the parishioners for their support, and the students, teachers, and EYC advisers who delivered the vases.
The Lenten program for preschoolers through third grade has been great. Thanks to Rusty Booth for his help. Everyone had a very rewarding and fun experience.
The Flowering of the Cross and the collection of the Mite Boxes will take place during the 9:15 am Easter Sunday service on March 23. Students should bring single stemmed flowers to insert into the Cross. If anyone should forget the mite box on Easter Sunday, please bring it to Frances Sessums’ office the following Sunday.
Pohick will be sponsoring its annual Easter Egg Hunt following the 9:15 am Easter Sunday service. Two egg hunts will occur simultaneously - Preschoolers and Kindergarteners, and 1st through 4th grade. At least one parent should accompany each child during the Egg Hunt. The Preschoolers and Kindergarteners will meet with their parent in classroom F, and the 1st through 4th grade students will meet with their parent in classrooms C and D.
Each students participating in the Egg Hunt should contribute a dozen filled plastic eggs to the kitchen before the 9:15 am Easter service. There will be a box marked “Easter Eggs.” It is strongly encouraged that eggs be filled with non-candy items.
Mark the calendar! Pohick’s Vacation Bible School will be July 7 through July 11, from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon each day. Children three years old through rising 6th grade students are welcome to attend Vacation Bible School. Students from 7th through 12th grade are welcome to be assistant teachers and aides! For those with 2 1/2 year olds that can stay to help in the program, there may be a class for the little ones. Contact Frances Sessums for more information. Volunteers are needed to make the week a success! Anyone interested in volunteering - teacher, assistant teacher, aide, snack server, nursery attendant, art assistant - please call Frances Sessums.
