HEALTH NEWS The POHICK CHURCH BLOOD DRIVE will be March 11, 2007 from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm in the Church parking lot. The past response has been so positive, the Red Cross keeps coming back for some good Christian red blood. There have been some changes in the screening process that will speed things up, so hopefully there will be a great response once again. Thanks to all donors for giving the GIFT of LIFE. Nutrition March is National Nutrition Month – an excellent time to evaluate progress toward those New Year’s resolutions. The American Dietetic Association suggests that individuals find a balance between food and physical activity. Regular physical activity is important for overall health and fitness. It also helps control body weight, promotes a feeling of well-being, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. Make an eating plan for lifelong health. Too often people choose the latest food fad rather than focusing on overall health. Get back to basics by eating a variety of colorful fruits and veggies, consuming low fat dairy products, and choosing lower fat meats and fish. Make smart food choices by looking at the big picture. A single meal does not make or break a healthy diet. When eaten in moderation in the right portion, all foods can fit into a healthy diet.
