BUILDING POHICK CHURCH:

STEWARDSHIP FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW

The emphasis of the stewardship articles last year was from the Biblical teachings on stewardship and how they can be viewed and applied in our lives. This year we would like to address different aspects of Stewardship at Pohick Church. In the year ahead, we will be discussing not just the Pledge Drive, but looking at different forms of Stewardship that address needs at Pohick.

We will be writing articles on such topics as Endowment, Directed Giving; such as the Wishing Well campaign, the infrastructure of Pohick, Activity Fairs, General Fund; what does it covers, the Pohick Foundation, and others.

One of the aspects of Stewardship at Pohick that we addressed last year was Talent. The Stewardship Committee produced a survey that parishioners could complete to volunteer their talents to the Church. We are still working on this project. Blank surveys are still available on the communications table in the Common room and in the Stewardship mailbox in the office. If you did not fill out a survey, complete one and mail it to the Church, or put it in the Stewardship mailbox in the office.

We hope you will find these articles informative, and that they will answer some questions you might have about the needs of Pohick Church, and how generous donations of time, talent, and treasure are used to benefit the Church. Also, watch for further information about Stewardship on the WEB site.

Anyone who would like to become a member of the Stewardship Committee can contact Jane Thurston at 703/339-1301. We can always use more help. The next meeting will be at 9:15 am, March 19 at the Church in one of the upstairs classrooms.
