CHRISTIAN EDUCATION NEWS
On February 13, the youth made wonderful visits to the Fairfax, Westminster, and the Sunrise. Thanks to everyone for supporting this event. Special thanks to Kelley Perconti, who did such a superb job of arranging the flowers! Everyone really appreciated them. On Easter, following the 9:15 am service, the annual Pohick Easter Egg hunt will be held. There will be two egg hunts occurring simultaneously based on age groups. At least one parent must accompany each child during the egg hunt. The children will gather in assigned rooms directly following the service. The Preschool and Kindergarten children will meet with their parent in classroom F. The 1 st through 4 th grade children will meet with their parent in classrooms C and D. Please be on time so that a total number of egg hunters can be counted! Each family should bring one dozen, filled, plastic eggs per child to the kitchen by Easter morning BEFORE the 9:00 am service. There will be a box marked “Easter Eggs.” It is strongly encouraged that the eggs be filled with non-candy items.
The Flowering of the Cross and the collection of the Mite Boxes will take place during the 9:00 am Easter service. For the Flowering of the Cross, students should bring single stemmed flowers with no leaves attached. This makes it easier to insert the flowers into the cross. If someone forgets a mite box on Easter, please bring it the following Sunday to the Religious Education office. For any questions, please call Frances Sessums at 703-339-6572. |
