EYC NEWS
The EYC will kick off the month with a Super Bowl Bake Sale during the 9:00 am coffee hour on February 4. Stop by the table and take some goodies home to snack on during the game! The proceeds from the Bake Sale will benefit the summer Mission Trip. Later that evening, there will be a Super Bowl Celebration at the Binder’s house. All three EYC groups are encouraged to come and experience the fun of watching the game on the “big screen.” The celebration will kick off at 6:00 pm, and dinner will be provided.
The February EYC calendar is as follows:
- Sunday, February 4: EYC Bake Sale and EYC Super Bowl Party at the Binder’s.
- Sunday, February 11: Valentine deliveries to the Fairfax after the 9:00 am service. A pizza party will follow the visit.
- Sunday, February 18: No EYC due to the President’s Day holiday weekend.
- Monday, February 19: Decorating and set up party for the Pancake Supper from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
- Sunday, February 25: Regular EYC meeting for the Jr. and Sr. High EYC.
Special activities planned for the EYC in February: Laser Tag for the 5th/6th EYC. On Friday, February 23, all three EYC groups are invited to attend the National Cathedral Prayer/Pilgrimage. This evening will give the teens the opportunity to reflect on their spiritual journey and participate in walking the labyrinth. More details will be mailed to the teens and posted on the EYC bulletin board in the Common Room.
The EYC is getting ready for the annual Pancake Supper that will be held on Shrove Tuesday, February 20 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Please bring family and friends and enjoy a wonderful meal prepared and served by the youth group. The proceeds from this event will be used to offset the cost of the annual Spring Retreat. This year the spring retreat will be April 20-22 at Camp Pinnacle, which is a 4-H Camp in West Virginia. It is a wonderful chance for the teens to get away from the hustle and bustle of their busy lives and enjoy a quiet and relaxing weekend with a focus on deepening their relationship with Christ.

Support The EYC Mission Team! The EYC Mission Team would like to offer their services in order to raise funds for the July 2007 Mission Trip to Hoosick Falls, NY. The Mission Team members are available for raking leaves, lawn care, babysitting, house cleaning, pet sitting and any other “chores!” All proceeds will benefit the Mission Trip!
