CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
On Sunday, February 11, the 5th -12th grade students will be visiting the Fairfax and Westminster retirement homes to deliver Valentine bud vases. The bud vases will be sold during the coffee hours on February 5. The cost is $6.00 for a Valentine and a beautiful bud vase. Vase and cards can be purchased for a specific person or as a surprise for someone at the Fairfax or Westminster. Kelly Perconti has volunteered to make the bud vases once again this year! She does such a beautiful job! Thanks, Kelly!
On February 18, confirmation classes will begin for youth who are at least 12 years of age. Reverend Jane Piver will be teaching the class this year. The classes will be held on Sundays from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm in classrooms A and B. For students who attend EYC at 6:30 pm, there will be a light supper served during the half hour between class and EYC. For those interested in being confirmed, please call the Church office to sign up for the class.
On February 28, the first Lenten study will begin. The Preschoolers through 3rd graders will study The Heroes of the Bible. Rusty Booth and Frances Sessums will teach this class. Jennifer Crump Strawderman will work with 4th through 12th graders.
Nursery Help
The Nursery is in need of volunteers during the 9:00 am service. Anyone interested in helping the youngest members of Pohick, please call Svea Krajack. Volunteers are only needed once every six to seven weeks. Please consider this very rewarding ministry!Vacation Bible School
Planning your summer vacation yet? Mark your calendars now! Pohick’s Vacation Bible School will be July 9 - 13, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Three year olds through 6th grade are invited to attend. Seventh through 12th grade students are welcome to be assistant teachers and aides. A class will be provided to children two and a half years old whose parent(s) can help at Vacation Bible School. Anyone who is interested in teaching, assistant teaching, being an aide, snacks, nursery attendant, art assistant, or helping in any way, please contact Frances Sessums.
