December 2006

Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!

The Season of Advent arrives this month, building week by week towards a glorious celebration of Christmas. At Pohick, this means sharing with those less fortunate, as we do every year at our Christmas Party for the homeless (Dec. 11) and in our Christmas Basket collection. Likewise, our young people remind us this time of year about the true meaning of Christmas at our annual Christmas Pageant (Dec. 10).

Before we even get that far into the season, there is a little business to conduct. Our Annual Parish Meeting falls on the First Sunday in Advent (Dec. 3, 10:30 am). Read through this year's slate of vestry nominees before coming out to cast your ballot. We will be electing seven new vestry members (five 3-year, one 2-year, and one 1-year terms).

Elsewhere, our Rector discusses what happens at Pohick when Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, while our Assistant ponders a Jewish myth. Our Sr. Warden issues his final monthly report, while our Stewardship Chair brings us up to date on our 2007 Pledge Drive, reminding everyone to send in your pledge card if you haven't done so already!

You'll find news about these items and much, much more in this month's E-Post!

As always, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org.
