Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!
The days have shortened, autumn leaves are falling, and overcoats have become mandatory. The fall holidays are upon us, beginning with All Saints' Sunday, Nov. 5, when through baptism we'll welcome several new Christians into the Community of Saints, while remembering those Saints who have gone on before.
Later in the month, we'll celebrate our annual Thanksgiving Day Eucharist at 9 am on Nov. 23, and look forward to Advent and Christmas with our Advent Wreath Workshop and Potluck on Nov. 26 and Annual Christmas Mart on Nov. 16. There will also be opportunities to help the needy during the holidays with our annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive.
Speaking of drives, don't forget to bring your Pledge Card to our Ingathering on Sunday, October 29. That's also when we go off Daylight Savings time, so remember to "Fall Back" one hour or you'll end up attending a different service than you expected!
In this month's E-Post, our Rector summarizes the progress made in several new or ongoing projects, while our Assistant shares about her recent trip to the Island of Iona in Scotland. Elsewhere, our Senior Warden presents his monthly report, while Jennifer Crump-Strawderman talks about several upcoming events for the EYC, including next summer's Mission Trip.
You'll find news about these items and much, much more in this month's E-Post!
As always, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at email@example.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at firstname.lastname@example.org or the Rector at email@example.com.
