October 2006

Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!

In recent days, there's been a cool nip in the air—and that can only mean one thing: Apple Butter and Fair time are here! Come on out and lend a hand at both parish events on Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 (Apple Butter) and Oct. 7 (Fair Day). While you're at it, bring along a friend--or two or three!

In this month's E-Post, our Rector previews his upcoming class which will wrestle with the question: "What does it Mean to be Anglican?" Elsewhere our Senior Warden presents his monthly report, while Frances Sessums bring the latest news about our Sunday School Program.

Our Gunston Tutoring program resumes this month, and we will also be holding another Blood Drive in a few weeks--appropriately close to All Hallow's Eve. It is also time for our Stewardship ingathering on Sunday, October 29th. Look for your mailing about this in the next few weeks.

In this regard, thanks to all who supported our Wishing Well over the summer. Nearly every "penny" was cast, and these items are already helping us to better perform our ministries at Pohick.

Looking ahead to November, don't forget the Christmas Mart is coming up the Thursday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 16). There are lots of volunteer opportunities there too. Jump in and lend a hand!

As always, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org.
