August/September 2009 Welcome to the Pohick Post Online! It's that time of year when things start jumping again at Church. Soon, crabs will be steaming in the parish house (Crab Feast, Sept. 12, 3:30 pm), our young people will be flocking to Sunday School, Choir and EYC (Registration, Sept. 13), adults will be perusing the displays at our Fall Activities Fair (Sept. 20), and Apple Butter will be bubbling on the back porch (Sept. 26 - 27). Did we mention the Pohick Country Fair (Oct. 3, 10 am - 4 pm)? Come and be a part of it all as we enter the start of a new Church School year! In this edition of the Epost, our Rector writes about a wonderful Confirmation class project executed last May, while our Assistant writes more about the upcoming Alpha Course, which will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the parish House. Elsewhere, our Sr. Warden gives updates on last month's vestry discussions, while our Jr. Warden reports on the Parish House renovations set to start in October. Finally, thanks for making the Wishing Well a great success! It funded nearly $2500 in wishes, helping us to minister better in the coming year. Read about these events and lots, lots more in this month's E-Post! Remember, the main body of the E-Post is now published in Adobe Flash and requires the Flashplayer plugin. Download it here for free if you do not have it installed. You may also download a pdf version. As always, don't forget to send your Pohick Post Articles and event photographs to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org. |
