September 2006

Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!

It's that time of year when things start hopping again at Church. Soon, crabs will be steaming in the picnic grounds (Crabfeast, Sept. 9), our young people will be flocking to Sunday School, Choir and EYC (Registration, Sept. 10), adults will be perusing the displays at our Fall Activities Fair (Sept. 17), and Apple Butter will be bubbling on the back porch (Sept. 30 - Oct. 1). Come and be a part of it all as we enter the start of a new Church School year!

In this month's edition of the E-Post, our Rector reflects upon his experience with the EYC Mission Trip team this past July, while our Assistant looks ahead to her pilgrimage this month to Iona in Scotland. Elsewhere our Senior Warden gives his report on the most recent Vestry proceedings, while our Minister of Music reflects upon a hymn composed the very first time the Anglican Communion experienced turmoil among its membership.

Keep reading to catch all the details of our upcoming Sunday School, EYC and Choir programs, as well as all the special events mentioned above. And don't forget, it is back to three Sunday services (7:45, 9 and 11:15 am) beginning on September 10!

As always, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org.
