| July 2006 Welcome to the Pohick Post Online! Now that the floods are subsiding, the rising humidity is sure to take us into the dog days of summer. But as folks come and go on vacations, be sure to keep tabs on our ongoing church activities in this month's edition of the EPost! General Convention has recently concluded, leaving more questions than answers. As an extra to this month's E-Post, our rector tries to make some sense of it all in his "Reflections on the 75th General Convention and Its Aftermath." In a lighter vein, his regular column offers this year's installment of Binder's Beach Books. Be sure to read it before heading off on your summer vacation. While you're at it, take a look at the advice on summer skin care from our Parish Nurse. Elsewhere in this edition, our Assistant shares her commencement address to UNC's School of Nursing this past May, while our Sr. Warden reports on Vestry happenings. You'll be glad to know that our New Orleans mission team returned safely from their trip. Read about their work in Susan Homar's Mission Trip Report. Keep our Young People and their sponsors in your prayers as they too head off on their mission trip to the coal mining community of Smithers, WV, July 8-15. Back on the homefront, don't forget to sign your youngsters up for Vacation Bible School, which takes place the same week. Finally, we're off to a good start in this year's Wishing Well—but there are still plenty of items left. Take a look at this year's list and "Cast your Coin" to adopt an item that will help us better exercise our ministries at Pohick. As always, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org. Monthly Columns
