July 2005

Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!

July brings two big annual events at Pohick. The first of these is our EYC Mission Trip, where our Young People and adult leaders go out to help improve the living conditions of families facing hardship, while also sharing Christian devotions and fellowship. This year, Mari Lynn Bland our Youth Minister, along with four adult chaperones, will be leading a team of twenty-five Young People to Sanford, Michigan, July 9-17. Please keep them all in your prayers during that time. Also, drop them a note of encouragement through the Group Workcamps website. They will all appreciate your prayers and support!

The other event is our Vacation Bible School, held 9-noon, July 11-15. This year's program will explore the Bible through a "Prayer Safari" that the children should really enjoy. Sign your children up now—and also, consider inviting the participation of some neighborhood families. It's a great way to introduce them to Christ!

Vacation time has arrived for many of us, giving us a chance to relax and spend some time away with our families. With this in mind, our Rector has compiled a list of Binder's Beach Books for your summer reading enjoyment. Also, wonder what it is like to minister in Kuwait? Take a look at the witness of a past Assistant at Pohick, The Rev. Neal Goldsborough.

Read about these topics, and much, much more in this month's E-Post!

Finally, don't forget this year's Wishing Well! There are still plenty of wishes to grant—and remember, you can chip in for some of the higher priced items, rather than underwrite the entire cost.

For next month, please send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org .
