April 2010 Welcome to the Pohick Post Online! The start of April this year finds us in the very heart of Holy Week and Easter, including the Maundy Thursday liturgy and vigil (April 1, 7:30 pm), the Great Three Hours of Good Friday (April 2, noon to 3 pm), the baptisms of Holy Saturday (April 3, 4 pm), and the Easter Sunday Flame Walk (April 4, 4:15 am Old Colchester Parking Lot), Vigil (5:30 am) and Festival Communion services (7:45, 9:15 and 11:15 am)—not to mention the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids (10:30 am). Come be a part of as much of it as you can, and invite your neighbors while you're at it! During the Easter Season, we read from the Acts of the Apostles about the life of the Early Church. In his monthly column, our Rector puts the spotlight on a major feature of that way of life—community—and reflects upon our increasing need for it now in the 21st Century. Likewise, our Assistant focuses on another major component of authentic Christian life—prayer. Although the Spring rains have slowed the progress of the courtyard renovations, they are well on their way to being completed. Read about these and other plans and renovations in our Junior and Senior Warden reports. There's lots more going on throughout April and beyond. Read about these goings on in this month's E-Post! Remember, the main body of the E-Post is now published in Adobe Flash and requires the Flashplayer plugin. Download it here for free if you do not have it installed. You may also download a pdf version. As always, don't forget
