March 2007

Welcome to the Pohick Post Online!

Although partially obscured by the recent snowfall, Lent has officially arrived! Get into sync with your Lenten discipline by joining the Wednesday evening Potluck Suppers, Lenten studies and worship, beginning on February 28, from 6:30-8:45 pm. Peruse this month's Rector's Column for more details.

Elsewhere, our Jr. Warden writes about ongoing projects at Pohick, while our Minister of Music, Director of Christian Education and Youth Minister give updates on the most recent activities of their groups.

Read our Outreach Director's full report of the recent Mission Trip to New Orleans, which will be featured in a Presentation on Sunday, March 4 during the Sunday School hour. The Martha Guild's Glories’ Happy Hats Workshop comes the day before, on Saturday, March 3, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon in the Annex.

One week later, Saturday, March 10, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew will be hosting our annual St. Patrick's Day dinner at 6 pm (it's a week early because of the Shrine Mont work weekend). The next day, March 11, we will observe Girl Scout Sunday, and will also hold our semi-annual Blood Drive, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. That's also the day when we return to Daylight Savings Time this year, so don't forget to "Spring Ahead" those clocks the night before.

So, mark these all on your calendar, and get set for a rich and rewarding Lent this year, with plenty of opportunities for Service, Study, Fellowship and Worship!

Don't forget to send your Pohick Post Articles to Lori Buckius at raebuck@aol.com before the monthly deadline (15th). Pass on any comments or concerns about these pages in an email to Dick Heintze at heintzer@pohick.org or the Rector at dbinder@pohick.org.
