March 2005 Welcome to the Pohick Post Online! We are entering the homestretch of Lent, with three more Wednesday Night Lenten Series Sessions to go (March 2, 9 & 16), a Lenten Quiet Morning coming up on Saturday (March 5, 10-Noon in the Church), and Holy Week soon to follow. This month, our Rector writes about a new Lenten prayer opportunity, a Maundy Thursday Prayer Vigil. Please consider signing up to "watch and pray" with our Lord for an hour. Don't forget the rest of the Holy Week and Easter observances this year:
In the meantime, we do allow for a little light-heartedness during Lent, with the Martha Guild's Happy Hats Workshop on March 12 (10-noon), the EYC Coffee House on March 13 (6:30 pm) and the BSA St. Patrick's Day Celebration on March 19 (6:00 pm). In a more historical vein, after returning from the Bach Marathon, watch for Pohick Church to be included in a scene from Cokie Robert's special, Founding Mothers, Sunday, March 6 at 7 pm on the History Channel.
