| January 2007 Welcome to the Pohick Post Online! This Edition of the E-Post comes to you in the midst of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which, contrary to popular belief, come after Christmas, not before! Accordingly, the Clergy, Staff and Vestry would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This year, the Vestry welcomes onboard its 2007 officers: Tom Mayberry (Sr. Warden), Wayne Biggs (Jr. Warden), John Pasour (Treasurer) and Susan Pehrsson (returning as Register). Thanks to the outgoing members for their faithful service: Pete Kind (Sr. Warden), Ken Wrona (Jr. Warden), Reed Heddleston (Treasurer), Ken Evans (Worship), and Jane Thurston (Stewardship). Although transition is still taking place, our new Sr. Warden has already hit the ground running with his first monthly report. Elsewhere, our Rector shares his reflections on the past year in his Annual Report to the Congregation. Our Assistant issues a reminder that we do offer Holy Communion and Unction on Wednesday evenings, while our Director of Christian Education and Youth Minister discuss past and future happenings in our Sunday School and EYC. Two other reminders: On Sunday, December 31, we will go back to our usual three services (7:45, 9, 11:15 am), with the Blessing of the Toys at the middle one (kids, bring your gifts from Santa!); and, don't forget to pick up your Pohick Calendar from the church. This year's version features the photograph of the church (by Don Barnett) now on display in the new Educational Center at Mt. Vernon. Finally, check out the nominees for the Bishop Coadjutor, one of whom will be elected at this year's Diocesan Council on January 26-27. Our clergy and delegates will offer their annual forum the weekend before, Sunday, January 21 at 10:15 am to receive your thoughts about the candidates, as well as any resolutions being offered.
