George Washington's Birthday Breakfast
Presidents Day, February 18, 2013, 8 - 10 am

CoffeePohick Church, the colonial church of George Washington, will hold a special commemorative breakfast and service on February 18th to mark the national observance of Washington’s birthday.

The full breakfast, which begins at 8:45 am, is open to the public, with tickets at the door running $10 per person or $25 per family. As part of the program, reenactor Tom Costa will portray the Rev. Lee Massey, colonial Rector of Pohick Church and a close friend of the Washingtons. While in character, he will reflect upon his relationship with the first family.

The breakfast will be preceded by a worship service at 8 am in the Historic Church, led by the current Rector, the Rev. Dr. Donald Binder. It will use the Order for Morning Prayer from the 1662 English Book of Common Prayer, the service Washington and other of our nation's founders used in their regular Sunday worship at Pohick.

The service is free-of-charge, as are the docent tours at the conclusion of the overall event.
