Pohick Country Fair

The Pohick Country Fair is an annual event which, since 1944, the parishioners and clergy of Pohick Episcopal Church have put on for the enjoyment of the citizens of the local community and of Fairfax County.

The purpose of the Pohick Country Fair is to extend a welcome to parishioners of the church, and the citizens of the local community and Fairfax County, allowing them visit our historic grounds for a day of fun and relaxation. We use the proceeds generated by the event to maintain the continue the many ministries of Pohick Church within the community.

The Fair includes games for the kids, a moon bounce, a civil war encampment, and booths staffed by different organizations within the church. At these booths, we sell baked goods, plants, jewelry and trinkets, plants, and fancy works. A “hodge podge” (which sells flea-market like items), a Christian book store, and a plant shop are located in the parish house near the church.

Members of the church make apple butter on-site and cook lunch for the guests attending the Fair (we even roast an entire pig for those of you really hungry). A turkey shoot is held adjacent to the fair grounds. Entertainment during the Fair is provided by our own guitar country band, the Pohick Pickers, and George Washington comes back to visit, answering questions about his life and posing for a picture or two.
