They rehearse Thursdays from 7:30 to approximately 9:00 p.m. They sing every Sunday at the 9:15 service, with a warm-up time of 8:30. The Choir of Pohick sings a wide range of music from traditional hymnody, early music to music of today's talented composers, as well as music from other nations and traditions. Singers do not have to have a fluid music reading skills, but a voice and a willing heart

St. Alban's Choir. Grades 7-12. Rehearses Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:00. Sings on the 4th Sunday of every month at the 9:00 service. Singers must be "robed and ready to go" at 8:30 am on the Sunday on which they are to sing. This choir will not only sing traditional music, but will be playing marimba music of African traditions, playing as a recorder (flute) consort, and ringing as a hand-chime choir with the St. Cecilia choir from 7:30- 8:00. Activities for this year include a trip to the Village Harmony concert at Pohick; Pipes, Pedals and Pizza night at Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Old Town; and the Sounds of Pohick Concert in June.

St. Cecilia Choir consists of children in grades 4-6 and rehearses Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00. The choir sings on the 3rd Sunday of the month at the 9:15 service. Singers must be "robed and ready to go" at 8:30 am on the Sunday on which they are to sing. They sing traditional choral music as well as playing and singing with Orff instruments. St. Cecilia Choir will learn note reading and ensemble playing through ringing hand-chimes.

St. Francis Choir is for children in grades K-3. It rehearses Wednesday nights from 6:00-6:30. Singers learn basic note reading skills as well as traditional songs of Episcopal worship through singing and games. If you have children interested in this choir, please contact Barbara Lynn through one of the church numbers.

Pohick Bell Choir has children in grades 9-12 and post-high school adults. The bell choir rehearses Thursdays from 6:30-7:30. Ringers learn note reading skills, play traditional hymn tune music using various ringing techniques, including the use of mallets! This fun group plays for church at least once every two months for the 9:15 and 11 :15 services. If you would like to be a member but cannot make a weekly commitment, we often need substitute ringers-especially if you have rung before. Please see Linda Egan or call one of the church numbers for more information.

The Pohick Pickers are a folk music ensemble comprised of various instruments such as guitar, banjo and fiddle. This group plays for Communion once a month, plays for the Pohick Country Fair, the Homeless Christmas Party, as well as for other outreach and community activities. If you are interested in playing or singing with this group, call John Sessums, director, through one one the church numbers.
