Thomas Cranmer (1489-1556)
	Born near Nottingham to parents from the lower gentry, Cranmer pursued theological studies at Cambridge. There, he earned a Doctor of Divinity and later taught. Through his studies, he was influenced by the reformation writings of Martin Luther.
